Optometric Grand Rounds |
Conducted as a series of discussions, lectures and demonstrations by members of
the residency faculty and staff, this program is designed to present
challenging clinical cases and to integrate the basic health and visual
sciences with diagnostic findings and management options. To achieve this
objective, each of the sections of the course curriculum contain related
aspects of basic and clinical science and is accompanied by a self-assessment
procedure. This will enable course participants to evaluate their knowledge and
problem solving ability during the learning process.
As an educational program,
this course serves primarily as an adjunct to optometry residency training. All
VA optometry residents and SCCO residents and students have first priority to
attend Grand Rounds. For this reason as well as patient comfort factors, a very
limited number of pre-registered doctors can be accommodated. |
