Dr. Pilon received his Doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry and completed a primary care/ocular disease residency at the Illinois Eye Institute. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Pilon assumed clinical and didactic duties as an instructor at the Illinois Eye Institute in the areas of primary care optometry and advanced ophthalmic disease management. Dr. Pilon is a member of the American Optometric Association and a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

He has been an invited speaker at several functions throughout the Midwest & Pacific regions in the areas of ocular disease diagnosis and management. Dr. Pilon has published several articles that highlight his interest in the area of posterior segment diseases of the retina and vitreous and neuro-ophthalmic disorders. Dr. Pilon's humanitarian interests have permitted him to work closely with members of the pharmaceutical industry to provide glaucoma screenings for indigent populations in urban America.
