| Dr. Susan Shin received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology at the University of California at Los Angeles. In 1999, she received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry and completed the residency in Pediatric Optometry and Vision Therapy at the same institution in 2000. Dr. Shin is currently an assistant professor at the Southern California College of Optometry. Her primary clinical teaching responsibilities are in the Pediatric Optometry and Vision Therapy Services. She is involved in didactic/laboratory instruction in the areas of vision and learning, strabismus/amblyopia diagnosis, assessment of binocular vision, management of non-strabismic binocular vision conditions, and ocular refraction. Her research interests include binocular vision, vision and learning, eye movements and pediatric optometry. As a member of the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group, she is currently involved with a series of multi-centered amblyopia treatment studies sponsored by the National Eye Institute. |
